Welcome

We are very pleased to announce that the next joint congress of the European Economic Association and the Econometric Society European Meetings (EEA-ESEM) will take place in Vienna, Austria, August 24 – 28, 2006 and cordially invite you to attend.

European Economic Association (EEA) and the Econometric Society (ES) are international scientific organizations that are dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of contemporary economic research, including theoretical, empirical, and policy-relevant contributions. Membership in both the EEA and the ES is open to all interested persons. Members of the EEA also receive a subscription to the Journal of the European Economic Association (JEEA), while ES-members receive a subscription to Econometrica.

The 2006 EEA-ESEM congress will feature the work and findings of the leading scholars in economics and will provide an excellent opportunity to present your own research. In addition, an interesting social program, highlighting some of the unique features of Vienna, is included in the registration fee.

The local organization 2006 EEA-ESEM meetings will be jointly conducted by the Institute for Advanced Studies, Vienna (IHS) and the University of Vienna. The venue of the conference will be the campus of the University of Vienna, which is in the heart of the city's historic downtown. The 2006 conference also has a particular significance, since it marks the 20th anniversary of the first annual EEA meetings, which were held in Vienna.

Vienna is one of the unique cities of the world and we hope to welcome you in 2006!
